Day
by day coverage of all air actions in France, the Low Countries and Norway
September 1939-August 1940. The "phoney war" of September 1939 to April
1940 was far from phoney for the air forces of Britain, France and Germany.
Luftwaffe veterans of the Spanish Civil War were pitted against well-trained
British and French airmen, and losses over the Franco-German border and
the North Sea were heavy. This book chronicles the aviation events of this
period of World War II including the signbificant activities of the Fleet
Air Arm both at sea and on land including the dark days of Dunkirk.

| Hitler
on the Doorstep : Operation 'Sea Lion' : The German Plan to Invade Britain,
1940. Egbert Kieser, Helmut Bogler (Translator). United States Naval Inst.;
ISBN: 1557503907. £0.00 RRP: |
 |
A different
variation of the German attacks on Great Britain in the dark days of 1940.
This book shows the German point of view, instead of the British, as regards
Operation sealion, the anticipated uinvasion of the UK. Many books have
been written about Sealion, all of them have been concerned with the British
preparations for overcoming the Nazi invader, but this book is very well
written and shows, us many point of views including that of Adolf Hitler
about the invasion of Britain. A very good book.
